Oh my gosh....
Actual *knitting* content! *gasp*
I really haven't fallen off the face of the "knitting world". I have just been a hermit knitter lately. I'm not currently participating in any Secret Swaps and that alone is enough to make me hide. *pout* I had hoped I would be too busy moving to Arizona to participate this go-round, but it's taking much longer than I want it to! Can a 37 year old woman have a temper tantrum?
Okay! All right! Knitting content. I swear. See? I knit!
Urgh! My image up-loader isn't working. Let me post this and then I'll edit it in a bit with actual pictures. (I swear, I really *do* have pictures to share!)
I'm creating a work-around, until I get my image uploader working....

This is the pair of socks I made Randy. The yarn is Knitpicks' Memories in "Redwood Forest". Here's a close-up of the colors under a flash.

After I finished those, I started on a pair for Nick in Knitpicks' (apparently discontinued?) "Simple Stripes". I had so much trouble with this sock---I don't know why, maybe the yarn wasn't "fun"?---and I finally expressed my frustration to him. He said, "Let's pick out a different yarn then and you can leave that one alone." Yay! This is the result:

As soon as I was done with that, I cast on for another pair of socks for Randy, using Susie's Midnight Rainbow/ Harlot's Peackock. This is a really dark color, so the best picture I got still doesn't do it justice:

That skein lead to the purchase of my Yarn Swift, which should be here *any day now*! How? Well, I've been using a Lego creation my son and I designed, for a swift. But, I was too lazy to get it out this time and the next thing you know *poof* instant massive knots! It took me (does some quick math) over 11 hours to un-tangle the mess I made!
I'll try to get a better picture up as soon as it arrives.
You can see in the Midnight Rainbow picture that I'm knitting on 2 circulars (Knitpicks to be precise). I *love* Cat Bordhi's "Socks Soar on Two Circular Needles". So far, I've only knit the basic sock because I've been having too much fun with stripey and variegated yarns. I've recently purchased some sock patterns over at Knitnet.com that should push me beyond the "simple sock". I bought the Fair Isle and the Navajo Bear Feet socks. They look like a challenge!
